How do I join the Public Policy Committee?
Thank you for your interest in APSE’s Public Policy Committee!
The committee has two fundamental objectives: a) to act as a forum to get updates on various policy related issues and get input on issues; b) to provide opportunities for members to assist in advancing APSE's public policy agenda via contributing time and energy to APSE's various public policy activities. As you will find, the committee is very open to ideas and sharing of information by members. Please do not hesitate to share input, raise issues the committee should be paying attention to, ask for assistance on public policy issues, share public policy reports, etc.
The full committee currently meets on the second Thursday of each month at 3pm EST. Our meetings are typically an hour (but sometimes go longer). We meet via Zoom, and link/call-in information is included on a meeting invite that we send in advance. The agenda consists of a discussion of current issues and possible action steps by APSE, as well as ongoing efforts to build APSE's public policy infrastructure, through development of products and various other activities. This meeting has a Federal policy focus, although implications to states are discussed.
Committee materials and correspondence are managed through APSE’s YourMembership database. Current membership and an active profile is required to access this information.
